Since 1998, the Carolina Traditional Archers along with Catawba Valley Wildlife Club have hosted the North Carolina Traditional Archery Championship. (NCTAC). This 3 day event is held each year during the Memorial Day weekend and attracts archers from all across the southeast. It includes a total of 40 targets divided among three ranges featuring a variety of eastern, western, and exotic game animal targets, traditional vendors, novelty shoots, free camping, home cooked meals, restrooms and hot showers. Trophies are awarded for men, women and youth in longbow, recurve and primitive classes. |

Tough Man Shoot: The Toughman shoot consist of ten 3D targets set in all natural surroundings. The shots are set to be "tough" and "challenging". It will test the skill of the archer and provide some laughs or groans on each shot. Challenge yourself and have some fun. |

Bust a Skeet: Test your skill at exploding clay pigeons – and maybe even with a few bucks! Cost only a dollar-a-round to play, and the archer who shatters the most splits the pot with the house. |

2D Kid Range: For kids 7 and under; this range will let the young archer shoot a course just like mom and dad. No charge and open all weekend. |

Aerial Targets: Come test your skills at aerial targets. No fee or competition. |

Kid’s Event/Shoot: A variety of activities designed for the youngsters. Free and held Saturday afternoon. |

Coon Shoot: This 10 target course offered both Friday and Saturday nights will challenge the most skilled instinctive archer. Targets are set in a realistic setting and adding to the realism is the baying of coon dogs. Participants will be limited to one 2 cell flashlight (furnished) to illuminate the target. A $5.00 fee is charge for this event and adult and youth trophies are awarded. |
